Web Application Security Report H1 2023

SECURITY INSIGHTS | August 1, 2023

Read Myra's new semi-annual report to find out how the cyber threat situation has intensified, particularly for the public sector, and why the novel DDoS attack method "HALO" has enormous damage potential.

After Myra's Security Operations Center (SOC) had already identified a persistently high threat situation in the first quarter of 2023, there were now no signs of relief for websites, online portals and APIs in Q2 either. A direct comparison with the same period last year shows a significant increase in malicious requests for the first half of 2023 – the number of malicious requests increased by almost half (47.1%).

It becomes particularly critical for the affected companies when savvy attackers resort to unconventional attack methods such as the HALO attack. In Myra's new semi-annual report, zeroBS' pentesting experts describe their experiences with this reverse HTTP amplification attack and provide tips on mitigation options.

Read these and many more exciting cybersecurity insights in Myra's new Web Application Security Report (GER only).
