Last Friday, Myra Security welcomed Dr. Florian Herrmann, Head of the Bavarian State Chancellery and Minister of State for Federal Affairs and Media, to its Munich headquarters. With global tensions rising and supply chains getting more unstable, it's clear how important an independent and trustworthy digital infrastructure is for the government, the economy, and society. Myra Security showed how its Security-as-a-Service platform, developed and run in Germany, is making a big difference in keeping digital value chains stable.
Minister of State Dr. Herrmann visited the SOC to learn how Myra's security experts monitor critical IT systems 24/7 and defend against cyberattacks in real time.
“In light of geopolitical challenges and growing uncertainties, strengthening digital sovereignty and building resilient and independent digital infrastructures is of central importance—especially in the field of cybersecurity,” Dr. Herrmann emphasizes. ”As Germany's leading IT location, Munich stands for technological excellence and innovative strength. Bavarian cybersecurity solutions make a decisive contribution to protecting critical infrastructure and ensuring Europe's digital independence.”

Sascha Schumann, CEO of Myra Security, says, “Minister Herrmann's visit shows how important and relevant cybersecurity is in Bavaria. We immediately agreed that, given the current geopolitical situation, digital sovereignty is no longer a question of 'if' but only of 'when'. We are ready to work together to advance this cause – Bavarian cybersecurity for Europe's data.”
Minister of State Dr. Herrmann and the Myra management team discussed how the Free State of Bavaria can further expand its leadership as Germany's IT location through targeted research partnerships, national public procurement procedures, and increased support for local technology providers. Both parties agreed that Bavaria, Germany, and Europe need strong local providers to secure digital sovereignty in the long term.
